How do I request accessibility adjustments?

What services are not provided by XVI UNESCO Creative Cities Network Conference?

Devices that are personal or individually prescribed, such as, but not only, wheelchairs, prescription eyeglasses, or hearing aids.
Services of a personal nature, such as assistance in eating, toileting or dressing, or the pushing of wheelchairs.
Guides and sign language interpreters.

Where is the accessibility desk located?
The registration desk is located within the main Conference Venue, Fórum Braga and, will be available to provide support on all inquiries related to accessibility.

How can I request accessibility/special needs requests prior to my arrival to the Conference?
All requests on these matters can be forward to welcome@uccnbraga24.com.

As a visually impaired participant, how can the XVI UCCN Conference assist me in accessing printed materials?
The XVI UNESCO Creative Cities Network Conference will provide training to its volunteer team and staff, to ensure that all assistance is provided in this item.

Is session transcription available?
The XVI UNESCO Creative Cities Network Conference will not provide session transcriptions.

Does the XVI UNESCO Creative Cities Network Annual Conference provide sign language interpreters?
The Conference does not provide this service.

Does the XVI UNESCO Creative Cities Network Annual Conference provide spoken language interpreters?
The Conference will include spoken interpretation in French, English and  Portuguese.

Are any strobe light used during the conference?
At this point no strobe light is to be used in any of the official programmed activities within the conference. Nonetheless, and due to the fact that some of the events are still under development, the possibility cannot be ruled out. If and when any strobing effect is used, information will be made available before the activity.

External events listed in the Cultural Programme may use the strobe lights. We advise you to contact the external promoters directly.

Do the conference venues provide accessible seating?
Yes, accessible seating is available in Forum Braga and Theatro Circo.

What types of mobility devices are permitted at the Conference?
Wheelchairs, walkers, canes and crutches are allowed and are reasonably accommodated. For safety reasons, requests to use other power-driven mobility devices will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We kindly ask that any special needs regarding mobility devices be detailed an email to the following address: welcome@uccnbraga24.com.

Where can I charge my medical or mobility device during the event?
Charging points are available at Fórum Braga.
Please note that: the voltage requirements in Portugal may be different to what you normally use for your device. The XVI UNESCO Creative Cities Network Conference will not supply power strips or plug adapters.

Is accessible parking available at XVI UNESCO Creative Cities Network Annual Conference?
Yes, accessible parking is available at Fórum Braga.
The city center of Braga also has private and paid parking lots that can be used while visiting other venues or the city.

Are there accessible bathrooms at Conference venues?
Yes, accessible bathrooms are available at Fórum Braga and Theatro Circo de Braga

Are there gender-neutral bathrooms?
No.

Do the Conference organizers provide catering for attendees with any dietary restrictions?
As part of the registration process, we will collect information on any dietary restrictions our attendees may have to ensure that our catering services can accommodate everyone’s needs. We have made considerable efforts to offer a diverse selection of food options to suit all dietary requirements. However, we must be transparent about the fact that, in large-scale catering environments, there is an inherent risk of cross-contamination. We strive to minimize this risk and provide safe meal options for all participants.

Is there a prayer space at the Conference’s venues or any close by?
Yes, a prayer space will be available at Fórum Braga.
Braga also has several catholic churches and an Islamic Center, located at R. do Alcaide 6, 4700-042 Braga.
